Thai Ambassador and Thai Consul-General’s Activities in Sydney

On 20 May 2021 H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, and Mr. Chakkrid Krachaiwong, Thai Consul-General in Sydney, attended the following events in Sydney.
1. Amazing Thailand Hybrid Product Update 2021
Ambassador Busadee and Consul-General Chakkrid gave opening and closing remarks respectively at the Amazing Thailand Hybrid Product Update 2021 held at Doltone House Hyde Park.
The event was organized by Tourism Authority of Thailand, Oceania Office to update the Australian and New Zealander suppliers about Thailand’s policy and measures in preparation to welcome foreign visitors, such as the U-Tapao International Airport redevelopment, the rehabilitation of natural tourist destinations in Thailand, the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) and the Phuket Sandbox, which is scheduled to start in July 2021. About 70 participants attended this hybrid event in person and another 100 participants from Australia and New Zealand attended online.
On this occasion, Ms. Palisa Anderson, the owner of Chat Thai Restaurant, Jarern Chai Grocery Store in Sydney and Boon Luck Farm in Northern NSW, also presented the participants Thai style stir-fried vermicelli with prawns cooking demonstration.
2. Visit to Australian International College and Sydney College
Ambassador Busadee and Consul-General Chakkrid visited the Australian International College and the Sydney College, managed by Mr. Marko Malivong, a well-established Thai businessman. Both colleges currently offer occupational courses on business administration, hospitality management and massage therapy for over 900 foreign students in Sydney.
Ambassador Busadee, Consul-General Chakkrid and Mr. Marko exchanged views about the effects of international travel restriction on overseas students.
On this occasion, Ambassador Busadee gave an update on ASEAN Committee in Canberra’s advocating for the return of ASEAN students to Australia.
