H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with the Head of Team Thailand Agencies in Australia, hosted a Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day at Sala Thai, Royal Thai Embassy.

On 3 December 2020, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with the Head of Team Thailand Agencies in Australia, hosted a Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day at Sala Thai, Royal Thai Embassy.  The Reception was attended by Mr. Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, General Angus Campbell, AO, DSC Chief of Defence Force, Mr. Brendan Smyth, Commissioner for International Engagement, ACT, Dean of Diplomatic Corps, senior officials from relevant Australian agencies, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the private sector and academic institutions, Thai community and Friends of Thailand.  The reception was held in a covid-safe arrangement in line with current ACT health and social distancing measures.

On this occasion, the Chief of Protocol, as Guest of Honour, proposed a toast to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phravajiraklaochaoyuhua and the people of Thailand. The Ambassador of Thailand in return proposed a toast to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and to the people of Australia.  Video presentations delivering the Prime Minister of Thailand’s special message on the Thai National Day; an online exhibition “A Passage of Happiness”; video presentations on World Soil Day, as well as on tourism in Thailand were also shown.
