Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Thailand made an official visit to Australia

During 23-30 September 2022, HE Dr. Wissanu Krea-Ngam, Deputy Prime Minister and Mr Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Justice as well as the Thai delegation paid an official visit to Australia.  Between 24-27 September, in Sydney, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu and the delegation met with Australian senior officials from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Eastern Command, the Australia Border Force, New South Wales Drug Court, the National Measurement Institute and the Australian Institute of Police Management to discuss matters pertaining to Thailand-Australia cooperation on the suppression of drug trafficking.  Between 28-29 September, Minister Somsak visited Canberra and met with the Hon Mark Dreyfus, Attorney-General to discuss bilateral cooperation in the areas relating to drug control and combatting human trafficking. The Thai delegation also visited the AFP’s International Training Complex. Minister Somsak also briefly met with the Hon Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, during the National Police Memorial Service. During this visit, Mr Sira Swangsilpa, Charge d’Affaires, welcomed the delegation and hosted a dinner in honour of Minister Somsak and the Thai delegation at the Thai Residence.
