COE APPLICATION & FLIGHT TO THAILAND

1.Application for a Certificate of Entry (COE)

o Once granted a Visa or if travellers already hold a valid Thai visa or qualify for Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme travellers must apply for a COE via https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/

o Upon entry into Thailand, all travellers departing from Australia are required to undergo 7 or 10 days Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or Alternative Local Quarantine (ALQ) (more information can be found on http://hsscovid.com/). The COE application requires a proof of reservation for an AQ/ALQ for a minimum period of 7/10 days, depending on the vaccination status of the traveller.

o Since 1st October 2021, Thailand has now reduced the quarantine period as follows.

o For international travellers who have been fully vaccinated for no less than 14 days with approved by Thai authorities, the quarantine period is reduced from 14 days to 7 days.

The list of approved vaccines include:

(1) CoronaVac (Sinovac Biotech Ltd.)

(2) AstraZeneca or Covishield (AstraZeneca & University of Oxford / SK Bioscience (Korea) / Siam Bioscience / Serum Institute of India (SII))

(3) Pfizer – BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine or Comimaty (Pfizer Inc, &BioNTech)

(4) Janssen or Janssen/Ad26.COV2.5 (Johnson & Johnson Service, Inc.)

(5) Moderna (Moderna Inc.)

(6) Sinopharm vaccine or Covilo (Sinopharm Co., Ltd.)

(7) Sputnik V(Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology)

o For travellers who are not fully vaccinated, the quarantine period is reduced to 10 days.

o Travellers under the age of 18, which have not been fully vaccinated, are required to quarantine for the same period as their accompanying parents/ guardian/ caretakers, depending on the vaccination status of adults.

 

2. Flights to Thailand

o Certain airlines are now permitted to operate semi-commercial flights to Thailand, including the following carriers:

At check-in and upon arrival in Thailand, all travellers are required to present the following documents:

(1) A Certificate of Entry (COE) (2) A COVID-free medical certificate with RT-PCR laboratory result issued no more than 72 hours before departure

(3) A valid visa/re-entry permit (if applicable)

(4) Vaccine certificate (if applicable)

STEP REQUIRED ENTER THAILAND

 

STEP 1 – STUDY THE CATEGORY OF ELIGIBLE PERSON TO ENTER THAILAND:

The applicants must check visa conditions and eligibilities on our website at https://canberra.thaiembassy.org/type-of-visa/

The applicants may opt to enter Thailand without a visa under the Visa Exemption program and are able to secure a COE or certificate of entry. Nationalities under the Visa Exemption Program are allowed to enter Thailand without a visa by the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General. – Please apply for visa at “Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra” if you reside in Australia (VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, NT and ACT), Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and Kiribati

– Please apply for visa at “Royal Thai Consulate, Sydney” if you reside in New South Wales (NSW)

The applicants may directly apply for the COE or Certificate of Entry.

For those who are entering Thailand on a different purpose of stay, they need to obtain a Thai visa and COE prior to coming to Thailand.

 

STEP 2 – APPLY VISA:

Each applicant must submit a complete application form together with the required documents* to the Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra by post or in person. The visa processing time will take 5 business days.

*Please make sure that the application has been submitted 3 to 4 weeks before travelling and a separate application is needed for each person (regardless of age)

 

STEP 3 – APPLY FOR A COE ONLINE:

The applicants are requested to submit for a Certificate of Entry (COE) at https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/ (The applicants are requested to submit COE at least 7- 15 business days before their flight). Flights to Thailand

At present, certain air operators are permitted to operate semi-commercial flights to Thailand, and the list of air operators participating in the semi-commercial flights program can be found here (https://bit.ly/2Ude2kx)

For the availability and flights information, please contact the airlines directly. Before booking flights to Thailand with the above-mentioned air operators, travellers should ensure that they study the different categories of visas granted to foreign nationals at this time to determine the possibility of travel. Please note that having plane tickets does not guarantee entry to Thailand, non-Thai travellers must have all the required documents to enter Thailand.

T8 form

Upon entry to Thailand, Travelers arriving in Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic must submit a T.8 form (health declaration form). Register online through AOT phone application at https://aot-app.kdlab.ai/
