ASEAN Committee in Canberra met with Senator The Honourable Penny Wong

On 24 November 2021, HE Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, joined the ASEAN Heads of Mission, led by HE Mr. Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ambassador of Viet Nam and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC), at a dinner hosted in honour of Senator The Honourable Penny Wong, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs.  Both sides exchanged views and discussed various matters relating to foreign policy and regional developments.  Senator Wong reaffirmed the importance of ASEAN and welcomes the recent announcement in October to elevate the ASEAN-Australia relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The ACC reaffirmed their commitment to work with Australia to strengthen cooperation.
