Ambassador of Thailand visited Vector Technologies and Tonsley Innovation District

On 31 July 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Mrs. Amanda-Jane Giannopoulus, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand in Adelaide and Ms. Sithee Tanboonteck, Director of the Thailand Board of Investment’s Sydney Office, visited Vector Technologies in Adelaide and met with the company’s CEO, Mr. Greg West. Vector Technologies is manufacturer of blow and injection moulded products, including medical devices, FMCG, agricultural and aquaculture equipment, and automotive parts. The company currently operates in five countries, namely, Australia, Thailand, United States, New Zealand, and Luxembourg. In Thailand, it has two factories and a training centre in Pluak Daeng District, Rayong.

The Ambassador and team then visited the Tonsley Innovation District, where she met with Mr. Bill Damachis, Director for International Partnerships, Flinders University, to discuss cooperation, including in attracting more Thai students, joint project collaboration, and transnational education. Currently, there are about 20-30 Thai students studying at Flinders University.

The delegation also toured Micro-x, an X-ray manufacturing company, and TAFE SA.
Tonsley Innovation District, a 61-hectare integrated business district, seeks to promote innovation and a collaborative by providing an enabling environment. The main industries within Tonsley include health, medical devices and assistive technologies; cleantech and renewable energy; automation, software and simulation; and mining and energy services. There are over 30 leading manufacturing companies in the district.
