Ambassador of Thailand met Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre (HILT CRC) and TAFE SA

On 30 July 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, visited the Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre (HILT CRC). She had discussions with Ms. Susan Jeanes, Chair of HILT CRC, Dr. Jordan Parham and Professor Gus Nathan. Mrs. Amanda-Jane Giannopoulus, Honorary Consul General in Adelaide also joined the meeting. The delegation was briefed on HILT CRC’s mission to facilitate collaboration among government, industry, and academia to drive research aimed at reducing emissions in heavy industry, aligning with Australia’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. Both sides explored potential collaborations between HILT CRC and Thai academic and industrial partners to foster joint research initiatives.

Subsequently, the Ambassador and her team met with Mr. David Coltman, Chief Executive of TAFE SA, to discuss potential collaborations between TAFE SA and Thailand. The Ambassador then visited TAFE SA’s campus at Tonsley Innovation District, which features state-of-the-art training workshops for students.

With an annual enrolment of over 70,000 students and offering around 550 vocational courses, TAFE SA plays a crucial role in skills development across its network of over 300 institutions throughout South Australia. TAFE’s emphasis on hands-on, practical instruction complements theoretical learning to enhance the overall educational experience.
