Ambassador of Thailand joined the ASEAN Committee in Canberra in hosting the 55th Anniversary of ASEAN Reception
On 24 August 2022, HE Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand joined the ASEAN Heads of Mission to Australia in hosting a reception on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN at Hyatt Canberra Hotel. Over 150 guests from the public, private and academic sectors attended the event. On this occasion, HE Mr Rotana Chann, Ambassador of Cambodia, as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra, gave remarks together with HE Ms Jan Adams, Secretary of DFAT, as Guest of Honour. Both sides highlighted the importance of ASEAN-Australia relations as Comprehensive Strategic Partners and noted Australia’s commitment to further strengthen ASEAN-Australia’s collaboration to promote peace and prosperity in the region. Secretary Adams also touched upon her personal connection and fond memories of Thailand as a Rotary exchange student in 1979 at Phitsanulok Province, Thailand.
