Ambassador of Thailand chaired the ASEAN Committee in Canberra Meeting 1/2021

On 19 February 2021, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, chaired the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC) Heads-of-Mission Meeting 1/2021 at the Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra, which was attended by ASEAN Heads of Mission and their representatives. The ACC also had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Ridwaan Jadwat, First Assistant Secretary, Southeast Asia Division and Mr. Ray Marcelo, Assistant Secretary, Southeast Asia Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as well as Ms. Christine Holgate, Chair of ASEAN-Australia Council Board, via videoconference.  The Meeting stressed the importance of ASEAN-Australia relations especially the importance of people-to-people ties focusing on education and the students from ASEAN countries in Australia.  They also discussed opportunities and future ASEAN-Australia activities. The Australian side reaffirmed its commitment to work with ACC to advance further ASEAN-Australia collaboration for the benefit of the peoples in the region.
