Ambassador attended the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Dialogue with Forum Dialogue Partners in Tonga
On 28 August 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand, attended the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Dialogue with Forum Dialogue Partners in Nuku’alofa, Tonga. On this ocassion, the Ambassador was granted an audience with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala of Tonga to promote bilateral relations, especially on people-to-people exchanges and development cooperation including on sustainable agricultural development through the application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP).
The Ambassador also met with the Honourable Peter Shanel Agovaka, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Solomon Islands, the Honourable Gustav Altaro, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Palau, and H.E. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, High Commissioner of Fiji to New Zealand and Special Envoy for Pacific Islands Forum, to reaffirm Thailand’s commitment to enhance engagement with Pacific Islands countries, especially through development cooperation, with a view to sharing experiences and expertise to address common challenges such as climate change, disaster management, agriculture, public health, and human resource development. The Ambassador also sought their countries’ support for Thailand’s candidature for membership of the Human Rights Council (HRC) for the term 2025-2027.
