Adoption

          Foreigners who wishing to accept adopted Thai children can do the following:

  1. Adoption requirement

Foreigners who are domiciled in their countries, are submit an application to the government agency which have the authority to accept the adopted child of the country in which that person is domiciled or the agency assigned by that country’s government or the child welfare organization that the government of their country permits to carry out in order to receive international adoption

After Adoption process in Thailand has already done. Experiment was done for 6 months and sent report for 3 times. If the results of the experiment were satisfactory and children were lived happily with their family. The competent official will summarize the report to the Committee for consideration and approval for the applicant to proceed with the registration of the adoption child.

The applicant must go to apply for registration for adoption at the Thai embassy or the Thai consulate where the applicant is domiciled to register, make relevant notes. By the Department of Social Development and Welfare, there will make a letter of requesting cooperation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform the Royal Thai Embassy or the Royal Thai Consulate.

To register an adoption of Thai national, upon receiving notification that the Board of Adoption of Thailand has approved the adoption, all prospective parents must submit the following documents to the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General :

 

– Completed Legalization Form

– Completed Registration of Adoption Application Form

– Photocopy of parents’ passports and other identification documents

– Photocopy of the adopted child’s passport
