Ambassador of Thailand attended a Victorian Universities Roundtable

During a visit to Melbourne between 20 – 24 May 2022, HE Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand, together with Ms Piyasurang Kuljittiprasit, Educational Attache, participated in a Victorian Universities Roundtable organised by International Education, Global Victoria.  The meeting was led by Ms Fiona Letos, Director, International Education, Global Victoria, and participated by representatives from Deakin University, Federation University, La Trobe University, Monash University, Swinburne University of Technology and University of Melbourne.  The meeting acknowledged the rise in number of Thai students in Victorian Universities following the reopening of international borders.  Ambassador Busadee thanked the Victoria State and universities for taking care of and assisting Thai students during the pandemic.  They also discussed ways to advance academic cooperation particularly in the areas of digital economy, data science, health and medicine and renewable energy.

In this connection, Ambassador Busadee also visited Monash University and met with Professor Susan Elliott, Provost and Senior Vice-President and Ms Michelle Hoodbhoy, Director, Transnational Education and Channel Management.  Both sides took the opportunity to explore possibilities for further collaboration between Monash University and Thai universities.
