Asia-Pacific International Model United Nations (university-level) now open for application

Asia-Pacific International Model United Nations (APMUN), jointly organized by ASEAN Regional Center of Excellence on Millennium Development Goals and Asian Institute of Technology, aims to gather students from the five continents offering a higher-level atrium of confrontation and debate between culturally-diverse leaders, with the UN building as a backdrop.

APMUN, scheduled to take place between 20 - 24 September 2012, is an exclusive 5-day simulation for university/college students hosted annually in Bangkok in collaboration with UN Regional Headquarters and various governmental institutions.

At APMUN, delegates will gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets, as well as press officers.  The APMUN has a special focus on sustainable development and the MDGs. Participatns will have the opportunity to discuss issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to global issues.

Registration for APMUN can be done by single students who want to attend individually and by Universities/MUN Clubs/MUN Associations, which will take care of the participation of an entire delegation. However, priority will be given to the latters. APMUN 2012 applications received by June 20th, 2012 will be guaranteed a delegation. Registrations will still be accepted after this date on a space-available basis.
